Why I Ride for Breakthrough T1D Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) isn’t just a cause I support, it’s personal. My brother, JaMoore, was diagnosed with T1D at just 9 years old. I’ve watched him fight through the highs and lows, hospital visits, and surgeries, all with relentless grit. Today, he’s on the transplant list for both a kidney and pancreas and undergoes dialysis three times a week just to stay alive. And yet, every morning, he wakes up with strength, purpose, and a smile. T1D is a relentless autoimmune disease with no known cure. It requires constant monitoring, insulin injections or pump therapy, and daily decisions just to maintain balance all while trying to live a “normal” life. It doesn’t take breaks. It doesn’t let up. That’s why I ride. And that’s why I support Breakthrough T1D, the leading nonprofit driving research toward better treatments and ultimately, a cure. I’ve committed to riding minimum 100 miles every year until that cure is found. Your support means everything. Let’s be the reason Type 1 becomes Type None. 💙🚴🏽♂️
